I’ll Take That Dare

December 7, 2010

In Response To L.G.’s  Challange

For Me Visit

White Owl Island

Meet me at White Owl Island

my friend asked- no- she dared me one night.

She said

the stories about ghosts aren’t real

the ones about the houses made of bones aren’t true

nobody believes that those rumors about the trees that died a long time ago

have a pinch of truth to them

so meet me out on the Island

my friend said with a smile on her face

but not in her eyes.

If there are not ghosts, or spirits or houses made of bones

I asked my friend

who would live out on a dark and faraway place like

 White Owl Island?

My friend did not answer

but

I think this woman does.

And if she doesn’t

she should:

  1. I don’t know why this woman creeps me out but she does……. :O

    • Its like her hands aren’t a part of her- Its like her hands are moving out of time with her voice and the rest of her body language. That is what I found creepy.

      • Now THAT would make a good story: what if one day you wake up and your hands start doing things you can’t control…. I’m sure someone has already written this….

      • I used that theme a couple of years ago for a Halloween Story- anyway its a real disorder, people believing that their own limbs have been replaced by ‘alien’ limbs- I read a good explanation of it in a book called, ” Man Who Mistook His Wife For His Hat “

  2. On the island of the Great White owl
    the donkeys speak
and the baby owls ride about
    playing
you will find the ancient secretary waiting to welcome you
and find you a soft couch
    in fields of poppies

    • That sounds delightful, Fran, — settling on a nice comfy couch in a lovely field of flowers.
      :)

  3. Is she weird or what? I say, rolling my eyes.
Great story and a fantastic picture of the wolf in the moon.

  4. Unbelievable. Lucky this model can use her hands because the rest of her is VERY freaky. Fabulous post A.M.
