Today Is

International

Make Up A Really Great Reason For Not Writing Day

I have a lot of great reasons for not writing recently.

The problem is, true though they may be, they are lame.

So in honor of the day I have a great excuse for not writing.

It involves Pirates,

A Bowl Of Lucky Charms Cereal Minus The Gross Cereal Bits

And More Pirates

So.

How Did Your Day Go?

  1. NO fair. I don’t live on the open ocean like you do, Anita. I can’t blame nothink on pirates. Dogs now…well…the dog did steal my supper right outta my hand tonight and since I didn’t get to eat I’m weak with hunger…tooo weak to write. How’s that? Then she dropped her great big chew bone on my foot and the pain is simply maddening…you see…the it’s the dog that is killing my potential writing career

  2. OMG!!! Stephie, Anita,

Such perfect timing. My cat, sat on my vitamins and left kitty litter crumbs all over them. So, I couldn’t take my vitamins and I feel like the Wreck of the Hesperus.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!!!

    Hugs,
    GwenGuin

  3. I didn’t get much writing or painting done this afternoon because I went to a summer concert in the park. I watched Tombstone Shadow, a Creedence Clearwater Revival Tribute band. The highpoint of the performance was when about a dozen people got up and started line-dancing to “I heard it through the grapevine.” Oh, and then a conga line started when they did “Down on the Corner.” I did not participate in either dance routine. Yep, there’s nothing like rock and roll in the park to take the edge off the week.

  4. My feral children used all my pens and pencils to scribble on their bedroom wall. They ripped up all my writing books and fed the paper into our DVD player. I could have written on toilet paper but my 12 year old decided to try out the old flush the loo while the end of the toilet roll is in the bowl…. All I have left is my lipstick……

  5. I finished up some leftover soup for breakfast. Starting the day in such an unconventional manner left me in a state of chaos for the rest of the day. Then, I went to the gym and stepped on the treadmill before resetting it to my speed and almost came a cropper. Whoever used it before me must have been a marathon runner. To top the day off, a woodpecker mistakenly thought my Hobbit’s hut (that’s the chic shed that works beautifully as my hideaway/office/studio) was built of wood. Not so, it is metal. After about 30 minutes of that rat tatting, I had a thunderous headache. After a couple of Tylenol and a short nap I returned to the computer only to be be side tracked by a thunderstorm. I’m in the habit of shutting down the computer during lightening storms. What a day…how could I write after all that? Never again will I have soup for breakfast.

    Vi

  6. How fun, Anita Marie. No pirates around, just loads of work that never seems to end. Groan!

  7. [...] 21 July , 2010 So I have a friend, who I don’t write to often enough, who informed me that the 18th of July was “International Make Up A Really Good Reason For Not Writing Day”. [...]

  8. Cereal and Pirates.
    Sigh.
I need to come up with something more exciting ;-)

  9. i was still on vacation and there was sand in my computer???

  10. I am not writing because I am thinking of reasons not to be writing. Bother! Are these words appearing on the page?

  11. I’m curious to know what the pirates did to keep you from writing! Perhaps there are no “gross cereal bits” because they made you EAT them all, and after THAT torment who would want to write – or do anything else for that matter?

I did not write today because I was afraid, shy; the “new-kid-at-school” feeling was too strong, I didn’t want to look stupid…I didn’t want what I wrote – or didn’t write – to look stupid. Come look at my blog, I’ll tell you more about that feeling in my post for today!
Thanks for the inspirational prompt! You just smashed my writer’s block.
